John Fenga, MVSN founder and platform designer, "the Southern 80 represents the biggest challenge of our technology to date. We will be well supported by Telstra's 5G network recently upgraded in the regional area but we also have an 80km racecourse and boats moving in excess of 220kmph - faster than most tennis serves. With multiple producers around the world using our cloud-based production studio and cameras positioned on boats, throughout the course, and around the event, we will be giving the streaming audience an incredible experience from glass to glass."
Former Ski Racer Matt Davies, "I'm extremely proud that we at MVSN have been able to collaborate with my friends at the Southern 80 to bring Australia's most exhilarating water sport to the screen.
Live streaming in viewers' choice Multi-Cast mode by MVSN, is the only interactive way to experience adrenaline charged water ski racing at its best. The viewer will have the choice of multiple camera feeds at any given moment. They will be able to choose the team, the angle, the commentator or even the event entertainment for complete control and unprecedented immersion.
Our product will also enable Moama Water Sports Club to engage their supporters and fans directly through our Cloud-Based Production Suite and Multi-Camera live feed. As an ex-ski racer I’m really excited to say this will be great for the sport in general.
The Southern 80 is back on the water for 2022. Moama Water Sports Club President (MWSC), President Steve Shipp, announced Wednesday, December 8th at the Media launch, held at the Five Mile Reserve in Moama.
The Southern 80 ski race occurs over the three days of the 11th to February 13th, 2022. The sport and the event have been in limbo due to COVID restrictions over the past 18 months. The MWSC has been using that time to refresh the popular ski racing event, to include more action on the water.
